Does God really exist??

I was in class 6, when we had a question box in our classroom. We were asked to put a question in the box, which will be later answered by our class teacher in our Moral Science class. I had put a question which I had in my mind since long time. I waited every moral science period excited, for my question to come out of that box. Finally, one day it did, Teacher reading  “If God made us then who made God???. Bell rang and the class got over. And again the question was left unanswered. I was scared of my teacher so I didn't have courage to stand up and ask her to reply to my question.

I grew up with this question in mind. I used to visit temples with my family but had this question in mind. "Does God really exist?"

Then, one day I interrogated my friend, "What do you believe in? What you see or what you hear?"
He answered, “I believe in what I see.”
Immediately my next question was, “Have you seen god that you believe in him?”
He didn’t defend his answer.

Few years later, I was sitting in a Temple with my Mom where my Dad and Brother were performing some rituals. I told my mom, “I feel what we do is blind faith. Why we have to believe something  not there. If Krishna could save Draupadi at her Vastraharan, Why doesn’t he come to save the girls who are being raped? We just follow things what others say. I don’t believe in all this.” My mom slapped me in the temple for being rude and talking all this in the Temple.

I asked the same to my Grandma, and she replied, “Gods and Goddesses existed only in Satyuga (Era of Truth) as per Hindu Mythology and at present we are living in Kalyug(Era of Downfall). It was predicted that all the sorriest things will happened in this phase. There are lot of bad things yet to happen and the world will end some day.”

I was not convinced. Sometimes, I felt sorry for the people practicing some religious rites for stupidest things. Example: A Maha Pooja for an Indian cricket team going to play a World Cup. But what will even God do if the cricketers don’t practice??

I have seen few people just leaving everything on God. It could be clearing their exams or clearing their interview. I believe in 'believing in ourselves and working hard to achieve your dreams'. I have had endless arguments on this topic with no conclusion derived out of it.

As I grew, my idea about God  kept changing.

But this what I believe now,

“There is a supernatural power and we call it ‘God’. God is within us. We write our own destiny. Why do we have to depend on someone or wait for a miracle to happen to get our dreams fulfilled?
And If God really exists, he will give you what you want if you really deserve.”

Quote "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Everything they've ever "known" has been proven to be wrong. A thousand years ago everybody knew as a fact, that the earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew that the Earth was flat. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."

Any guesses to say from which movie this Quote is??

The way I see it, we don't know what we will know tomorrow. We may come to know that there is no such thing as life at all and this is just a dream... or we may be a lost part of a huge civilization... or we are an accident - a creation not intended. whatever it is.. i only wish, I live long enough to find out the purpose of My insignificant existence in this massive universe.
